In this workshop you’ll learn how to set up a character with V-Ray. Kalina will reveal how to deal with the challenges of good character design. She’ll go over how to create great looking skin and realistic hair rendering, and the use of displacement for fine character details. There will be plenty of tips and tricks for getting the most out of V-Ray.

Morro Images & VFXbox will present the challenges in planning, building and rendering a digital 16th century Venetian canal as the main environment for the “Serena & The Enchanted Island” teaser. The team will share how V-Ray for Maya is used for the shading, lighting and rendering of this project.

In this workshop you’ll learn how to set up complex shaders and how to work efficiently with volumetric assets. Simeon will discuss rendering workflows for volumetric cases with V-Ray and Phoenix FD, and how to use render elements for compositing.

LUXX Studios was honored to work on Roland Emmerich’s latest movie “White House Down” during the last presidential election. Emmerich and his team were not allowed to shoot near the White House so LUXX Studios had to build and model a lot of Washington DC including the capitol, Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall for the opening helicopter sequence. The team will discuss the process of building these assets, and how they used V-Ray in the project.

LUXX Studios will discuss the work they did for Wes Anderson’s Best Picture nominee, “Grand Budapest Hotel”. Andrea and Christian will show how they created the special look for the movie, incorporating real models with CGI. LUXX Studios worked on over 350 shots for this award-winning film.
